OK, just to clear up any confusion about the maker of the cake, I did not make it! I had a it made by a really sweet woman I met through my photographer. In fact, I didn't even make the smash cake! I got it free from the grocery store-- someone told me in line at Super Target when I was about to order one, that our grocery store gives a free smash cake for their customers' kids' 1st birthdays! Anyway, I didn't even attempt to make a cake, I knew it would just end in frustration and me spending most of the day in the kitchen instead of with Ellie =).
