Well, many of you have been asking me what happened to Ellie's poor face after looking at pictures from Easter. I will tell you that it probably looked the worst on the day of Easter, that just unfortunately happened to be the day for all the photo-ops.
Here's what happened:
When my brother and I were kids, occasionally my dad would bring home a water heater box from work. This was like the best present ever because he would help us either make it into a house, or we would get inside while he dragged us around the yard.... it was just THE BEST! Well, as you know, Ellie already has an affinity for boxes, so my dad decided to surprise her with her very own water-heater-house-box! So he brought it out of the car and up to the lawn and Ellie got so excited she headed straight for the box and walked right off the front porch... without climbing down the stairs! Soooo... gravity not being on her side, she took a header directly onto the concrete... ouch! There was a big dramatic scene complete with screaming (the neighbors were probably ready to cal DSS), waterworks, a bag of frozen peas applied to the boo-boo. But after about 2 minutes she was less upset than the rest of us and eager to get back to the box. It really looked like it hurt, but with repeated applications of Neosporin, almost all the evidence had vanished before we got back home to Daddy =)
Here are some post-boo-boo box-playing pics:
Doing a little interior designing for her "house" with some plastic, no doubt left over from the water heater that once inhabited it...
"May I help you?"
All she needs is a window-box with some pansies and she'd be set!
