Sorry for the lack of posting lately, but I have been running around here like a crazy person getting ready for our big trip in August. Daniel is doing an externship at a hospital in Boston for the month of August, so Ellie and I (and Rosie) decided we'd like to join him! Anyway, we leave on Friday and will be there for 4 weeks.
There have been several hassles to deal with along the way, not the least of which was securing housing at a (not-so) reasonable price, but everything is coming together now in the last few weeks and we're getting really excited about the trip.
We will have "renters" in our house for the month (I'm more-than-a-little nervous, but we really needed to recoup some of the cost of Boston living, so we'll see how it goes!) The family seems really nice- they sold their house and aren't closing on the new one until the end of August, so they needed a place to stay in the interim.
Still, for those of you who are local, if you happen to drive by and notice anything amiss, please call! Or, as Daniel told one neighbor, "If you see a UHaul parked out front with our stuff going out the door into the back of it, slash the tires on the UHaul, then call us right away!!" Hopefully everything will go smoothly.
Anyway, I'll be posting from MA for the next few weeks. Leave me suggestions on what to see/do in the comments if you have any... Ellie and I will just be hanging out during the day while Daniel's working. Also, (not that I really expect any of you to just "be in the neighborhood"), but if anyone wants to come visit, you'll have a free place to stay in Cambridge next month (assuming you don't mind a futon or air mattress!)

Hey! Make sure you at the very least drive up to Ogunquit Maine for a day. It's about an hour and a half from Boston. You can take a walk along the cliffs and the ocean and it is so beautiful and Maine has great seafood. Other day trips are Salem and Newburyport MA which are less than 1 hour away. Salem is "witch city" and has lots of history. Neburyport is a quaint little seaport town to walk around and see cute little shops and eat and look at sailboats. Portsmouth, NH is about 1 hour away and it has Strawberry Banke there which is a really neat living history museum which is fun to do.
Don't forget good old Boston and all the history there! The best place to eat is in the "North End" which is the Little Italy area of Boston. The best restaurant there is called Bella Vista on Hanover Street. Also a couple of doors down from there is Mike's Pastries which has the best cannoli's this side of the world! Not to mention all the great history in the city of Boston, the Duck Tours, and the Swan Boat Rides.
