As any of you with 2 (or more) children already know, the balancing act of trying to give the baby the attention she needs as well as making sure the toddler feels the least amount of interruption is a tough one! I have swung back and forth this week, among other things, between guilt, frustration, and exhaustion in trying to figure out how to make sure Ellie doesn't feel ignored and also how to make sure Campbell gets all the love and attention she needs. I admire all of you out there who have 2+ kids who are well-adjusted and happy! [email me on how exactly you accomplished this!]
Anyway, one of the things that was suggested to us by the pediatrician was to have a special "date" with Ellie every day where she unconditionally gets to spend a little bit of time one-on-one with Mommy or Daddy. Here's a picture of a Tea Party that Ellie invited Daddy to the other day (she even made an invitation on the computer... with clip art and everything!(she did have a teeny tiny bit of help from me!))
Here's a shot of the invitation she delivered to him when he drove up:

Mmmm. Nothing like mini cupcakes on Disney Princess China (btw, thanks, Glenda, for the Tea Set! Ellie's had a blast playing with it this week!)

If the Tea Party wasn't enough, Daddy was also on Cuddle-Duty that night! It's a tough job, being the Daddy around here, but somebody's gotta do it!

Daniel Fox playing tea party. Classic.
You have two beautiful little girls. Just enjoy them. Everyone will adjust in time. It was good for our #1 to realize she wasn't the only princess in the castle =).
